Oklahoma River Adventure: Trolling, Bait & Jig Fishing in Wagoner fishing report coverpicture

July 29, 2025

Dive into Oklahoma's River Excitement: Multi-Technique Fishing Fun!

Action-packed day from the get-go! Summer fishing in Wagoner, OK kicked off with a bang as I took Sarah and their crew out for a morning adventure with B & C fishing adventures LLC. We launched from Whitehorn Cove Road under partly cloudy skies, the early morning rain having cleared just in time for our 4-hour charter. The weather set the perfect stage for our river fishing expedition, with conditions prime for some serious angling action. Once the stage was set, we wasted no time getting lines in the water. Our strategy for the day involved a mix of trolling, bait fishing, and jig fishing - covering all our bases to maximize our chances. The river was alive with activity, and we worked different spots, adjusting our techniques as we went. While we didn't land any trophies this time around, the thrill of the chase kept us engaged throughout the trip. Every cast was an opportunity, and we made the most of each one, enjoying the challenge and the beautiful Oklahoma surroundings. We wrapped up our outing with smiles all around, having experienced a full morning of fishing excitement. The crew picked up some new techniques and got a real taste of what Oklahoma river fishing is all about. It's days like these that remind me why I love guiding on these waters - even when the fish are playing hard to get, the experience itself is always rewarding. Late-Season Spoonbill Action Still Strong in Northeast Oklahoma Waters fishing report coverpicture

June 9, 2025

Fort Gibson Lake - Cherokee, OK Fishing Report on 9th Jun, 2025

Spoonbill (paddlefish) activity remains steady across northeast Oklahoma, with the top spots being Grand Lake, the Neosho River near Miami, and parts of Lake Hudson. While the peak snagging season has passed, there are still good opportunities to hook into some late-season giants. Water temps are hovering in the low 70s, and recent rain has improved current flow, which helps move fish into more predictable staging areas. Anglers are seeing the most action early in the morning, especially between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. Deep channels, eddies, and areas near the dam continue to produce the best results. Spoonbill in the 40–60 lb range are being caught consistently, with a few impressive fish pushing over 80 lbs. Heavy snagging gear is a must—braided line, stout rods, and large treble hooks are the go-to setup. Be sure your gear is ready for a serious fight. A special paddlefish permit is required, and regulations are strictly enforced, so check your daily limits and tagging rules before heading out. Local guides are still running trips and report decent success for those willing to put in the time. If you’re after one last shot at Oklahoma’s prehistoric powerhouse, now’s the time to go while the water conditions are favorable and fish are still moving.
